The precise services provided, fees, deliverables and timescales will be set out in the relevant proposal, quotation, publishing agreement, service agreement or other written confirmation.
Where there is any conflict between these website Terms & Conditions and a specific written agreement between you and Ink & Ember Publishing, the specific written agreement will take precedence.
3. Quotes
and
Payments
Quotes provided by Ink & Ember Publishing are normally valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
Fees, payment schedules and any applicable taxes will be confirmed before work begins.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:

Payment will be required before work commences.

Final files, publication or delivery may be withheld until all outstanding payments have been received.

Additional work requested outside the agreed scope may be subject to additional charges.
All payments must be made in the currency specified in the relevant invoice or agreement.
4. Author
Responsibilities
You are responsible for ensuring that any manuscript, artwork, photographs, illustrations or other materials supplied to us:

Are owned by you or that you have obtained all necessary permissions and licences.

Do not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights of any third party.

Are not defamatory, unlawful or otherwise prohibited.

Do not contain material that exposes Ink & Ember Publishing to legal liability.

5. Copyright

Intellectual
Property
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, you retain the copyright in the manuscript and other original content created by you.
You grant Ink & Ember Publishing the permissions reasonably necessary to provide the services you have requested, including the right to reproduce, format, edit, distribute and market the work where this forms part of the agreed service.
Ink & Ember Publishing retains ownership of its pre-existing intellectual property, systems, processes, templates, branding and materials.
Any transfer or licensing of rights relating to a published work will be governed by the relevant publishing agreement.
6. Editorial
and Design
Changes
The number of editing, proofreading or design revisions included within a service will be specified in the relevant proposal or agreement.
Additional revisions, substantial manuscript changes or work requested after approval may result in additional charges and changes to the production schedule.
You are responsible for carefully reviewing and approving proofs before publication or final production.
Once final approval has been given, Ink & Ember Publishing will not normally be responsible for errors subsequently identified in approved files.
7. Publication

Distribution
Where we provide publication or distribution services, we will use reasonable efforts to make your book available through the agreed channels.
However, we cannot guarantee:

Acceptance by any particular retailer, distributor, library or platform.

Specific sales levels.

Reviews, media coverage or awards.

Placement in physical bookshops.

Continued availability through any particular third-party platform.
Third-party retailers, distributors and platforms operate under their own terms and may change their policies, availability or technical requirements at any time.
8. Marketing

Publicity
Marketing and publicity services are intended to promote awareness of a book or author.
Unless specifically agreed in writing, Ink & Ember Publishing does not guarantee:

A minimum number of book sales.

Media coverage.

Reviews.

Social media engagement.

Bestseller status.

Bookshop placement.

Any particular commercial result.
9. Timescales
Any production or publication dates provided by us are estimates unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Timescales may be affected by factors including:

Delays in receiving materials or approvals from you.

Significant changes to the manuscript.

Third-party supplier or distributor delays.

Technical problems.

Printing schedules.
